If you are in the market for a new set of ceiling fans that change the ambiance of your room, you might want to do a little research first. It may surprise you, but a ceiling fan says a lot about you and your home.

Just like with diamonds, ceiling fans have certain specifications that you might want to pay attention to. They are quality, size, look, number, and style. Each of these has different categories for different types of fans. These five factors will help you determine the best ceiling fans for your home.

Best-Ceiling-Fans

Number
First let’s look into number. Most ceiling fans have a couple blades that cut through the air, circulating it. The most common number of blades is four, but seeing anywhere from three to five blades is not at all uncommon.

You’ll know what kind of ceiling fan you’re looking for when you see how many blades you think is too much, and how many is not enough. Yes, there are two bladed fans and absolutely yes there are nine bladed fans.

Look
Next we look at the look of the blades. Take a look around the room that you are putting your ceiling fans in and ask yourself what colors you would repaint the walls to match how the room looks. Take all of those colors and write them down.
Next, see what colors the walls are already painted and write down what colors would complement them nicely. Most of the time your list will include browns, blacks, whites, creams, and sometimes reds. Other times your list may have even more colors like blues or purples. This is not as common but when it happens you can find a chic looking fan to match your color needs.
Look also includes a couple other subsections. Is your ideal ceiling fan patterned? What is it made of? Is it made of wood? Wooden ceiling fans are one of the most popular and possibly one of the best ceiling fans out there.

Style
There are more styles than just the traditional horizontal bladed fans. One of the two bladed styles actually goes in an almost full circle around the center of the fan. This more for aesthetics than air flow, though some ceiling fan designs are developed specifically to increase the level of air flow. It will be important to look into that.

Size
Some ceiling fans have very long blades that move slowly through the air, others have very quick, tiny blades that shake on each turn.
Size is more of a factor that takes into account the size of the room and how much stuff is in it. A room with a lot of things should probably have a small to midsize fan whereas a spacious room with little furniture would do well with a larger fan.

Another factor with size is what the purpose of the room is. If it’s an office space, a giant fan might not be a good idea because it would blow your papers around in large periodic gusts. On the other hand, a large fan would be perfect for a spacious family room.

Quality
The best ceiling fans are made with the best of quality. It’s important to find out how good the quality of the fan you’re interested in buying is. You can do this by looking up customer reviews, researching the materials used to make the fan, and examining the fan itself for loose parts or shoddy paint jobs.

It’s important to take the time to find the best ceiling fan for your home, based solely on your preferences.
